Durabasics® Care Guide
Salt Cell Cleaner Care Guide
Thank you for choosing Durabasics®. Our non-acid maintenance formula is designed to help reduce calcium scale and mineral buildup as part of your regular saltwater pool maintenance routine.
Salt cells naturally develop calcium scale and mineral buildup over time. Use the guide below to find the right dosage for your pool and keep your salt cell running smoothly.

How to use this chart:
  • Initial Treatment (Existing Pools): Use when treating an existing saltwater pool for the first time.
  • Monthly Maintenance*: Recommended for pools with high calcium hardness or pools that develop calcium scale more quickly.
  • Routine Treatment: Repeat every 6 months as part of your regular maintenance schedule.
  • New / Remodeled Pool Startup: Use when filling a newly constructed or newly resurfaced pool for the first time.
  • Use the monthly maintenance dosage, or double the initial dosage for enhanced protection against calcium scale buildup.
*High calcium hardness means your pool water contains elevated calcium levels, which can cause scale to form more quickly.

Apply & Maintain
Pour Into the Pool

With the circulation pump and filtration system running, slowly pour the recommended amount directly into the pool.

Let It Circulate

Continue running the circulation pump and filtration system after treatment to help manage loosened mineral deposits during normal pool operation.

Continue Routine Maintenance

Repeat treatment according to the dosage chart. Regular maintenance helps manage calcium scale before heavy buildup develops.

Inspect Every Few Months

Check your salt cell regularly. Heavily scaled cells may need manual cleaning before starting a maintenance program.
